E. coli and Salmonella

Coliform bacteria, such as E. coli, contaminate water systems due to animal waste. Using contaminated water may not denote a problem. Only a few strains of E. coli are pathogenic; the bug is commonly found in the intestines of animals and humans. Knowing what kind of bacteria is living in your water system is key to preventing outbreaks and the recalls that come with it.
